Obituary

Marvin Leon Bobbitt, age 82 years, Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on March 17, 2016. Marvin was born April 27, 1933 in Fairland, Oklahoma.

Marvin was a faithful member of Sandusky Avenue Christian Church for 35 years. He proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1961. Marvin was a very caring person and ready to help anybody with anything. He had retired from Boeing (Rockwell) after 30 years as a lathe operator. He was proud that some of the projects he worked on were used in the space craft that landed on the moon.

During his retirement years, he enjoyed travel of all kinds with his wife, Dimple. They went on many bus tours and cruises.

Marvin is preceded in death by his wife Dimple, brother Dean and son Steven.

Survivors include his sister Doris M. Barrick (husband Ray) and their son Damon. Sister-in-law Arletta Bobbitt and her son, Kevin and daughter Kim

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 27, 2016 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at Sandusky Ave Christian Church, 1101 S. Sandusky Avenue, Tulsa Oklahoma.

Burial will be at Fairland Town Cemetery, Fairland, Oklahoma following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sandusky Avenue Christian Church, 1101 South Sandusky Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74112

  1. Mr. Bobbitt was my dental patient for 34 years. He was absolutely without a doubt one of the kindest souls I have ever known and gave the best hugs! I so enjoyed talking with him about his trips, trains, and his Cracker Barrel Thursdays, among other things only his dental hygienist would know! Hee Hee! He may be gone from our sights but never from our hearts! He was so loved will be greatly missed!

  2. Marvin was a helpful and friendly neighbor to us. He was willing to pick up my mothers prescription when I couldnt leave work. We will miss our nice neighbor.
