Obituary

Mary Francis Crisp passed from this earthly life to God’s eternal home on December 19, 2012 after a long illness with COPD and heart disease. She was born on June 15, 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Claude and Anna Mae Nutting (both preceded in death). She married Charles L. Crisp (preceded in death) on October 6, 1953 in Tulsa at Saints Peter and Paul Church. She had two children, Charles David Crisp and Dianna Crisp Stevens, 5 grandchildren (Mechelle, Amber, Brian, Vincent, Melissa), 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Mary grew up in a large family with 4 sisters (Barbara, Claudette, Delores (preceded in death) and Kaye) and 2 brothers (Steve and James Nutting). Mary loved her family and enjoyed their company over the years with big family gatherings. Over the last year Mary’s health took a turn for the worse and she was not able to do the things she enjoyed. One of Mary’s possessions at death was the letter she wrote to her mother upon her death and three quotes from the Bible: 1 Samuel 12:22 (NASB) “For the LORD will not abandon His people on account of His great name, because the LORD has been pleased to make you a people for Himself.” Luke 7:9 (NASB) Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude that was following Him, “I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NASB) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. Rosary will be at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home in Tulsa at 6 pm, Friday, December 21, 2012. Funeral Service will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Church at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 22, 2012. Burial will be in Chouteau, Oklahoma at the Chouteau North Cemetery. Condolences may be sent through the guestbook on this page.

  1. We offer our deepest sympathies on the loss of Mary Crisp. Please offer a favorite memory of Mary on this memorial to share more of her life experiences with family and friends.

  2. Rest in Peace, Aunt Mary. My dad and I were just talking about you a few weeks ago and how I never made it to your house so you could show me pictures you had of my Mom and other family members. My deepest condolences to the rest of your family.

The imprint that Aunt Mary had on my life is a large one. I can remember visiting her house with my dad (her brother Steve) and her always being so glad to see us. She was always interested in what we were doing, and had a genuine heart and concern for us. I loved her cooking. To me she cooked most like Grandma Nutting, and I was always inspired to watch and listen while they were in the kitchen. Because of both Grandma Nutting and Aunt Mary, I love cooking. I can think of family get togethers with the cousins and the FOOD! Always such a huge spread of food. She never wanted to run out, and I always looked forward to those times. This year, I am sad to not receive my annual Christmas Card by the 1st of December as she would always send out right after Thanksgiving! She would always write me the kindest notes followed by a Bible verse and tell me that she loved me and the kids very much. I will miss her! I thank her for many grand memories, the love she had for me and my family, and always checking in with my mother and talking to her religiously on the phone to keep in touch. My mother will miss those calls and wonderful conversations. See you in eternity! You are now united with your loves, Charles, Delores and your beloved mother Anna Mae and father Claude.
