Obituary

On September 5, a seed was planted and blossomed to Bertha and Tommie Lee Guyton, a beautiful baby girl, Mary Ann Guyton, in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1958, the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mary Ann attended St. Monica Catholic School for 2 years, then attended Charles S. Johnson Elementary, Carver Jr. High, followed by Booker T. Washington High School, where she was a member of the pep squad and graduated in 1970.

Mary became a member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church at a very young age under the leadership of Reverend M.V. Ferguyason. She was an active member of the choir, a junior usher under the leadership of George A. Webb, followed by Reverend Bailey, and, in her later years, under the leadership of Bishop Harold Jones. Mary Ann loved the Lord!

Mary worked at the Tulsa Club for 11 years, then for the Government Nutrition for 9 years, followed by Burger King for 6 years, then returning to Government Nutrition, where she retired in 2014.

While attending Booker T. Washington High School, Mary met John Cato, and together they had a son, Gary, born on April 13, 1970. Later in her journey, she met Homer Morgan, and together they had 2 sons, Homer, born July 15, 1971, and Monta, born September 7, 1972, who preceded her in death.

Mary loved to skate, swim, and enjoy life.
