She was a fighter her entire life. Even in death. She survived a “shower” of strokes for at the age of 96. She held on for almost 2 weeks until her family arrived and could say goodbye.
She was a teacher right up until the end. She had 6 daughters of her own but continued to give education excellence to her grandchildren and then to her great grandchildren. She struggled as a mother to raise her children alone, by choice, and my sisters and I are only stronger for it. We definitely all inherited our mother’s fight, just fighting for our own diverse passions. Mom is going to be deeply missed and Heaven has received the teacher of the century. I have no doubt she is surrounded by a group of children that want nothing more than to listen to the story she is telling them. I love you mama. I miss you mama.

Thank you are words that seem to mean very little when speaking of the wonderful volunteers of Porta Caeli House. We didn’t know people like this still existed. Especially in Tulsa, Ok. Thank God they do exist. The family support offered bu the staff is truly second to none. I know these are just kind words but I’m hoping anyone that reads these words will open your heart , and checkbook, to support this beautiful facility.

  3. Mary was my mother. She was a wonderful person. She raised 6 daughters and a grandson. She will be greatly missed and always in my heart.
