Matia C. Calamease was born July 3, 1979 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She received Christ at a very early age under the direction of S.M. Harnsberry at Greater Union Baptist Church. Her church joy was singing in the choir. She loved school and was active throughout each passing year. She graduated from McClain

Senior High –Class of 1998. Shortly after that, she met the love of her life, Eddie Owens, Jr. Together they had two beautiful daughters.

She leaves to mourn a husband of 21 years, Eddie Owens, Jr., two daughters, Valerie and Amari Owens, her mother, Sandra Calamease, her father, Allen Nelson, two sisters, Shauntell Cohn and Marva Calamease, a grandmother, Johnnie M. Calamease, her mother and father-in-law, Sharon and Eddie Owens, Sr., two aunts, Ladonna Bell and Deborah Yarbrough and a host of in-laws, cousins, and friends.
