Obituary

Michael “Mike” Floyd Purnell was born on December 14th, 1958 to Virginia and Albert Purnell in St. Louis, Missouri. After his father and mother separated they each remarried. Virginia to Harry Williams Sr. and Albert to Hazel Purnell, who all helped raise him. He transitioned home on July 31st, 2016 in Jenks, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia “Ginny” Williams; his stepfather, Harry Williams Sr.; his stepmother, Hazel Purnell; and his sister, Staci Purnell.Mike excelled in academics; graduating early from Sumner High School in St. Louis, Missouri and then continuing on to earn his Bachelor’s in Business Management and his Master’s Degree from University of Phoenix in 2008 in Finance in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Mike welcomed a baby boy, Micheal Clayborne, into this world on March 13, 1978. Mike later then met his wife Sheryl and they were married on February of 1997 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sheryl and Mike continued living in Tulsa where they then welcomed two beautiful daughters, Michaela and Katia-Renae.Mike loved the Lord and was a dedicated and devoted Christian. He would pray for everyone and their families whenever there was an opportunity to share his love of the Lord.He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Sheryl of Jenks, Oklahoma; his son: Micheal (Rachel) of St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters: Michaela and Katia-Renae of Jenks, Oklahoma; one stepdaughter: Latisha (Sean) of Dallas, Texas; three sisters: Kathy (Ronald) of Northridge, California; Karen (Charles), of Hampton, Virginia and Andrea of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers: Harry Jr. (Andrea) and Albert Jr. both of St. Louis, Missouri. He also leaves 5 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
