Obituary
Nancy Jo (Hohulski) Dickey peacefully entered into His rest on July 20, 2023 at home with her family.
Nancy was welcomed into this world in 1953, the youngest of 5
children born to Sigmund and Evelyn Hohulski of Tulsa, OK.
In the summer of 1970, her first daughter, Brandye, was born. Nancy lovingly blessed another family with her care and raising,
reconnecting 19 years later.
In June of 1975, Nancy married Jim Dickey, with whom she’d build a beautiful life, raise children, spoil grandchildren, and grow their family with open hearts and open arms over 48 years together. Jim was the love of her life. They were blessed with two wonderful
daughters, Jessica (Jessie) and Jennifer (Jenni), born in 1982 and 1986 respectively and Nancy elected to stay at home and care for them and for many of their cousins for many years.
Once the girls were old enough, Nancy rejoined the workforce,
working her way up through the legal world. She retired in 2018 as the Executive Secretary to the US Federal Attorney, an
accomplishment that made her incredibly proud.
Nancy loved the open road and the rumble of well-tuned Harley
Davidson. She and Jim built a large circle of Harley-riding friends, taking trips all over the country on their motorcycles with the wind in their hair and the sun on their faces. A birthday ride planned by Jim one year, from Talihina, OK to Mena, AK along the Talimena Scenic Byway turned into an annual event that grew to over 50 motorcycles through the years.
Nancy loved to ride and garden and spend time with her closest
girlfriends but was happiest with her husband and her grandkids. She was “Mogo” to her grandbabies, so named by her first grandson, Jude with a toddler’s pronunciation slip. She loved her family dearly and made them her priority above all. She had a ready laugh and a warm heart. Nancy will be sorely missed by those who loved her.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Jim; her daughters Brandye (Kyle) Barrington; Jessica (Mike) Kennell; Jenni (Bryson) Phillips; and grandchildren Ray, Tug, Jude, Rylan, Benny, Luna, Myla, and Cody; her siblings Sigmund Hohulski, Linda Warner, Bobby Hohulski, and Mary Engles; as well as her extensive close family, including her sisters and brothers in love, and her very best girl friends.
Goodnight, God bless you, have sweet dreams, and we love you,
Nancy.
