Obituary

Nelta June Myers, most affectionately known by her family members as Grandma June, passed away on Tuesday, May 2^nd, 2023, in Tulsa, OK at the age of 85. She was ushered gently and quietly into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father, ending a nearly 3-month battle with various health issues.

June was born to parents Hugh Dupree and Lula Mae Robinson on January 13, 1938, and was raised on a small farm in western Nebraska. After moving to Sapulpa, OK and graduating high school in 1956, she subsequently married and had two children, Paul Brewer, and Shelley Brewer. June spent her entire adult life living in various locations around the state of Oklahoma, but the final 46+ years were spent in Jenks, OK.

June was an extremely diligent woman, known for her fierce independence and hard work. She also had a reputation for being a bit of a “clean freak,” and always kept her home and work areas in pristine condition. June always enjoyed serving in the background, and never wanted any attention directed towards her or what she was doing. She absolutely loved being a grandmother and spent much of her discretionary time supporting her five grandchildren in their many activities. She also enjoyed working outdoors in her yard, which she continued to do right up through the summer before her passing. She was also deeply invested in her career and worked her entire adult life in various facets of the banking business until her retirement in early 2018.

The remaining key priority in her life was her commitment to her church family. For 30+ years, she called the Tulsa Hills Church of the Nazarene her home church, and she served the Lord as well as her congregation diligently in many “behind the scenes” areas. June certainly loved her family and friends, but more importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She truly served as a role model for all of us who knew her well.

June is survived by son Paul Brewer, of Edmond, OK and daughter Shelley Brewer of Sapulpa, OK, as well as grandchildren Aaron Brewer of Cantonment, FL, Andrew Brewer of Columbia, TN, Alyssia Brewer of Los Angeles, CA , Anthony Brewer of Columbia, TN, and Devin Arrington of Sapulpa, OK, as well as brothers Lyle Robinson of Shenandoah, IA and Marvin Robinson of Maywood, NE.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on May 18, 2023, at the Tulsa Hills Church of the Nazarene in Tulsa, OK.
