Obituary

BROOKS, Perry Mark Jr. 69, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away Friday, April 27, 2012. Perry was born November 16, 1942, in Sapulpa, OK to Mark and Aline Brooks. He was a 1960 graduate of Sapulpa High School where he was a member of the marching band. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served nearly five years as a Motor Transport Mechanic. Prior to concluding his service, Perry spent his last two-and-a-half years overseas in Japan and Viet Nam. After his military service he worked as an auto mechanic, machinist and in the construction business, additionally he served as a Deputy on the Creek County Sherriff’s Department. He enjoyed woodcrafts, fishing, dancing, and most of all Sooner football. Survivors are son Doug, daughter-in-law Sandy and granddaughter Rachel as well as three step-children Teresa Harrell, Carol Carlock and Jerry Cook; sisters Barbara McCormick and Melita Holt of Sapulpa. He was preceded by his parents. Services will be Friday, May 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home, 2103 E. 3rd Street in Tulsa, OK. Interment will be at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday, May 3rd from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Butler-Stumpff.   2. I am so sorry to hear of Perry Mark's passing. We were school friends and his parents were neighbors of my Aunt Ruby. I have memories of many hours playing canasta with him and John Charles. My deepest sympathy to his family.
