Obituary

    Pheotene Chantiles Carney, was a lifetime resident of McAlester, Oklahoma. She was born Phoetene Athena to Nicholas and Josephine Chantiles, July 21, 1927. She passed from this world into the arms of our Lord on January 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James “Jim” Carney.

    Carla Forrester Curts was born Carla Susan on February 25, 1949 to Carl and Reine Forrester. She joined our Almighty Father in the heavens on April 30, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father.

    “Frankie”, as she was best known, and Carla were the closest of friends. They shared their love of dogs, and they spent many hours discussing family ancestry and Frankie’s best buddies Barkley and Boo.

    Both Frankie and Carla will be interned together in the Chantiles family plot in Calvary Cemetery in McAlester, Oklahoma. The date will be published in both McAlester and Tulsa papers. You may text your name and phone number to 918-693-4377, and you will be notified of the internment.
