Obituary

Phillip Eugene Robinson, Jr., 70, passed away on December 11, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on August 30, 1943 in Boynton, Oklahoma to Phillip Eugene Robinson, Sr. and Stella Maxwell. Phillip E. Robinson Jr. was the fifth child born to Phillip and Stella (Maxwell) Robinson on August 30, 1943. He was called Sonny by family and friends but “Dad” by his father. He grew up in The Boynton community and attended school in Boynton and Haskell school districts. Phillip graduated from Booker T Washington High School Haskell, OK in 1963. His school mates will remember him as a good basketball player. On July 8, 1963, Phillip entered the U.S Army, where he served 3 years. He served two years, six months in Germany as a Tank Operator. Upon returning to the United States he was Honorably Discharged. He then entered Langston University, while there he met Linda Clark. They later married and to this union two sons were born. Phillip worked several years at The University Club Towers, Tulsa OK. He was then hired by The Ford Motor Company Glass plant. He retired after 30 plus years of employment in 2006. To sum up Sonny: A carefree person who always left you with a smile on your face. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; Phillip and Stella Robinson, 3 sisters, Elizabeth Shirley, Jearline and Ertha Mae, and his son Marcus Robinson. Phillip leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Linda of Denver, and his son Keith Robinson, Brothers Archie Lee (Dolores) and Harold (Charlotte) both of Tulsa, Ok, 8 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and Friends. The Family of Phillip “Sonny” Robinson Jr., acknowledges with sincere appreciation, all of your prayers, calls, kind words, and other acts of kindness.
