Obituary

Rene was born March 29, 1932, to the parents of Dave and Anne Johnson in Bixby, Oklahoma. Inez was one of sixteen children; eleven boys and five girls.

Inez moved to Tulsa where she graduated from Carver Junior High and Booker T. Washington High School. She later gave birth to the love of her life, her son, Gary Eugene Johnson. She worked at St. John hospital for 27 years in house keeping.

She lovingly raised four grandchildren, three girls and one boy. Then she raised fifteen great-grandchildren andfourteen great-great-grandchildren.

She loved her family.

Inez is preceded in death by her father and mother,  eleven brothers: Eugene, Henry, Theodis, Jerome, Webster, Oliver, Floyd, David, Raymond, Calvin Johnson of San Francisco, California and Rochester Harris of Los Angeles, California; and four sisters: Helen Bryce, Roberta Williams, Rosalee Johnson and Katherine Jones.

Rena leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved son, Harry Johnson, one grandson, Gary Johnson, Jr., three granddaughters: Cynthia Hill, Sherry Hill and Julia Hill; along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Visitation for Mrs. Johnson will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 East 3rd Street, Tulsa, OK 74104. 

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 1:00 p.m., at Snake Creek Cemetery in Bixby, OK.
