Reverend Donna Colburn was born in Oklahoma City on July 21, 1934. She passed away September 9, 2013 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by family and friends after a seven year battle with Alzheimer’s. Donna was married to J.A. Colburn in 1951. In 1956 they moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where she raised her daughters, hosted a daily television show, and in 1965 became Mrs. Texas, among many other titles. Donna and J.A. eventually found their way back to Tulsa, where she became a minister for the Disciples of Christ Church in 1994. I worked with Donna at Sweet Adelines and many church activities. She was a blessing to anyone you knew her. I was honored to call her my friend.

  2. So sorry to hear about Donna. She was a great lady and a true one of a kind. I am so sorry I read the paper late or I would have attended her service. She and J were two of the finest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. Christie and Kellie and family are in my prayers.

  3. So sorry to hear of Donna's passing. I remember her from Donna's notebook on channel 6 in the mid 60's. I always watched and enjoyed the shows and still have a recipe from the show. God Bless.

  4. Christie and Kellie, so sorry to hear of Donna's passing and long bout with Alzheimers. While I was only in your lives for a brief time, there are many great memories which will always have a special place in my heart. Your mother was a very special lady with great compassion and love for others. Please know I am thinking of you and your families. I hope our paths will cross again one day. Best wishes and love, Kathy
