Obituary

Reynolds Cathey, Jr was one of thirteen children born in Eudora, Arkansas, to Reynolds and Ophelia Cathey. His parents, eleven sisters and brothers, and one child preceded him in death. Reynolds move to Tulsa in the late fifties where he worked in a multitude of jobs. He found his calling in the tire business in the mid sixties. Reynolds entrepreneurial spirit lead him to establish his own tire service. He successfully operated Cathey’s Tires Service for over 35 years. Reynolds moved to Florida with his daughter when his health began to fail at the age of 79. He spent the last ten years of his life in Titusville, Fl where he was fondly known as “Mr. C.” Many often commented on his pleasant manner and wonderful smile. Reynolds left this earth peacefully May 28, 2014 at home with family. Reynolds leaves behind to rejoice in his memory: five sons and one daughter; James Cathey (Mary) of Eudora, Ark; Kevin Cathey (Janice) of Ft. Worth, Tx; Joyce Cathey Jeffrey (Kevin), of Titusville, Fl; Reynolds Cathey III and Steven Cathey, both of Oklahoma City, Ok; and one sister, Lucille Harper of Tulsa, Ok; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Viewing will be at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home on Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 9:00am-8:00pm and Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 1:00pm-6:00pm. Funeral services are being held at New Heights Christian Center, Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00am.
