Obituary

Robert Allen Pierson, 56, of Tulsa, OK, died on Thursday, May 26, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Pontiac, MI on February 22, 1960, the son of Lawrence Glenn Pierson and Barbara Ellen Pierson. He grew up in Bay City, MI, and as a teenager enlisted in the Army, serving for 2 and a half years both stateside and in Korea. After his discharge in 1980, he moved back to Michigan where he lived until he relocated to Tulsa in 1985 where he met his future wife of nearly 30 years, Debbi. Bob was naturally mechanically inclined, and found his place professionally as a diesel mechanic, working for Melton Truck Lines, which became his second family for 17 years. His passion, though, was building, repairing, and above all riding motorcycles, through which he made a lot of friends and had his share of adventures. Bob was an awesome human being in the areas that count–warm, generous, loyal– with a fighting spirit, a quirky sense of humor, and a tremendous work ethic, and he will be forever remembered and loved by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ellen Pierson, and is survived by his wife, Debbi; sons Bryan of Eugene, OR and Robby of Mount Pleasant, MI; stepson Andrew, of San Diego, CA; brothers Don and wife Darla, Michael, and Timothy (all of Bay City, MI) and David and wife Kim (Saginaw, MI), and sisters Sandy Steiner (Bay City) and Cheryl Russell and husband Russ (Dunedin, FL); as well as many much-loved nieces and nephews across the country; and 8 grandchildren (3 girls and 5 boys).
