Obituary

In Loving Memory of Our Mother, Rochelle Walton

On the morning of January 29, 1964, our beautiful mother, Rochelle Walton, was born to James and Willa Walton. She was the fourth of seven children, and also shared life with her step-siblings Twila and Victor. From the very beginning, our mom brought light, laughter, and love into every space she entered.

Mom attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Tulsa McLain High School, Class of 1982. She later went on to Tulsa Community College, where she studied nursing and computers. But beyond anything she learned in school, what truly defined her was her heart.

She was blessed with five sons-David Jr., Dewayne, Delmar, Derrale, and Derek-and we were her world. She loved us deeply, protected us fiercely, and stood by us no matter what. To her eleven grandchildren, she was more than a grandmother-she was love, comfort, laughter, and home.

At an early age, Mom gave her life to Christ, and her faith carried her through everything. She had a way of making people feel cared for and seen. She loved baking, cooking, and bringing everyone together-family gatherings, barbecues, class reunions, karaoke nights, shopping trips-those were her moments to shine.

If you knew our mom, you knew she never met a stranger. She could talk on the phone for hours just checking in, making sure you were okay. She loved to laugh, joke, and keep the energy alive. She truly was the life of the party, and there was never a dull moment when she was around.

Mom had a giving spirit. She helped so many people, always willing to listen, to comfort, and to stand in the gap for anyone who needed her. And if you ever had her peach cobbler, you already know-that was her special touch of love.

More than anything, our mom was strong, loving, and real. She showed us what it meant to care for others, to stay connected, and to love without limits.

Mom, we are going to miss you more than words can ever express.
Thank you for everything you gave us, everything you taught us, and all the love you poured into our lives.

Fly high, Mom… until we meet again. We love you forever.
