Obituary

Ruby Mae (Powell) Jones was born July 28th, 1948 to Johnny and Olivia Powell in Morley, MO. Ruby began her life in Missouri with her marriage to O.D. Davis. From this union they were blessed with three children: Valeria, Oscar (JR), and Rodney. After being widowed Ruby married her loving husband Augustus Jones. From their union they were blessed with two children Cornell and Aneidra, together they made Tulsa, Oklahoma their home. Ruby dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses by water baptism in the winter of 1975. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses she shared her faith about God’s word to all who would listen whenever she was able, often serving as an auxiliary pioneer. In her spare time Ruby loved to search for bargains at garage sales and thrift stores. Ruby loved watching classic black and white movies with a bowl of Braums black walnut ice cream. Ruby was a fighter. With five children and a husband the struggles of life were abundant. Throughout it all she taught her children Jehovah’s way of life. As a mother Ruby was always supportive of her children whether they were wrong or right, often having their back and when necessary having their backside. Preceding her in death are her parents; her brothers Johnny and John-Henry; her first husband O.D. Davis; her second husband Augustus Jones; and her son Oscar Davis. Left to mourn her is her sister Rosalie Jones of Chicago, Illinois, children: Valeria Morgan (Alfred) of Houston, Texas; Rodney Davis (Cassandra) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Cornell Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Aneidra Jones of Wichita, Kansas; stepchildren: Augustus Jones (Dorothy) of Dallas, TX; Frankie Jones of California ; and Jimmy Ray Jones of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Shanna Morgan; Oscar Davis Jr.; Darius Davis; Sir Lawrence Davis; Michael Davis; Jasmine Davis; Kayla Davis; Ryan Davis; Fairryn Davis; Shaunee McKnight; Dejah Jones; Cornell Jones; Kobe Jones; Marcus Jones; Devonte Jones; Karen Jones; Augustus Jones Jr.; Shantell Jones; Nicole Jones; and a plethora of great-grandchildren.
