Obituary

With profound sadness, yet unwavering faith in God’s promises, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, educator, and friend, Sharon Denise Ball, who peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2026, at the age of 67, following heart complications.

Sharon Denise Ball was born on April 8, 1959, in Gainesville, Florida, to the late Eddie Manns and Betty Jean Davis. From an early age, Sharon possessed a compassionate spirit, a servant’s heart, and a quiet strength that would define the way she lived her life.

She graduated from Philip Livingston High School in Albany, New York, before continuing her education at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida, where she earned her degree in Business Administration in 1978. Never one to stop learning, Sharon later earned her degree in Child Development, preparing for a career that reflected her passion for helping others.

For more than 35 years, Sharon devoted her life to educating young children and working with children and adults with disabilities. Later in her career, she served as a Communications Dispatcher for Tulsa Transit.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sharon was a phenomenal seamstress whose talent, creativity, and attention to detail were admired by everyone who knew her.

On September 12, 1998, Sharon married Thomas DeJuan Ball in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Sharon leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted husband, Thomas DeJuan Ball; her beloved children, Zakina Nayo Williams and Kenneth James Shannon; her treasured grandchildren, Makyah Kenise Riggins, Kendric Malik Collins, Kailyn Marie Shannon, and Serenity Semone Shannon; her loving siblings, Barbara Cobb, Eddie Manns Jr., and Wayne Manns; her cherished cousins, Jake Mobley and Jeff Johnson; her special niece and nephew, Philisia Mount and Christopher Tucker, the beloved children of her sister, Barbara Cobb; members of the Noble and Adams families; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, countless dear friends, and all who were blessed to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kevin Rubin Shannon; her parents, Betty Jean Davis and Eddie Manns; and her brothers, Mark Manns, Marvin Manns, and Hurley Manns.

Although our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing that Sharon’s earthly journey has ended and that she is now resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Though we will miss her deeply, we rejoice in knowing that this is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
