Lucy (Sue) Allan Ford of Tulsa, OK, passed away in Edmond on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the ageof 88.Sue was born in Denver, CO on May 6, 1932. She grew up in Aurora, CO and moved to Oklahoma as ateenager. Sue married Wally Ford, the love of her life on June 25, 1954 and he adopted her son David froma previous marriage. Paul was born on November 11, 1957. Sue and Wally were married for 56 wonderfulyears.After surviving breast cancer in 1976, Sue volunteered tirelessly for Reach for Recovery and theAmerican Cancer Society. In 1995, she co-founded Tulsa Project Woman with Barbara Schwarz. Themission of TPW was to help uninsured women and women with limited resources to receivemammograms, diagnostic procedures and surgical services for free. In 2001 TPW became its ownnonprofit and in 2009 it became Oklahoma Project Woman as it expanded to help women all overOklahoma.Sue was often described as “spunky”. She was a bold personality in a small frame. She liked to recitesayings like “Cold hands, warm heart; dirty feet, no sweetheart!” She loved to play and goof off with hergranddaughters and great-grandchildren. She loved purple, butterflies, bunnies, and traveling to Colorado.Sue also enjoyed crosswords, cross-stitch, country music, socializing with friends, and spending time withfamily. She was known for her sweet tooth and occasional hankering for a bourbon and diet coke.Sue is survived by her brother Robert (Bob) Allan; son David and wife Tonya; son Paul and wifeTracey; granddaughter Laura and husband James, great-grandchildren Nori, Jonah and Selah;granddaughter Emily and husband Daniel and great-granddaughters Madelyn and Baylor; and numerousnieces and nephews.Sue is preceded in death by her beloved husband Wallace (Wally) Ford, parents George and WilmaAllan, older sister Audrey Newsum, and younger brother Donald Allan.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toOklahoma Project Woman.

Aunt Sue was one of the funniest and most joyful people that I have ever come across. She will be missed! What a wonderful legacy she has left through her work and family.

I bad the pleasure of meeting Sue on many occasions through my sister Barbara Schwarz. She was funny, spunky, and a genuine person. She always used to joke with me about our name's, with a hello Sue from each of us. She was a true friend and a blessing to all people she met. She will truly be missed.

Dear family,
Sue was a sweetheart. I was privileged to know her through Wally. Wally was my boss at Osborn Equipment Sales. I think it was when you could smoke a pipe in the office….He was my 3rd boss ever and Just the best. What a wonderful couple.
