Obituary

Tulsa, Oklahoma: The Lord Jesus Christ stopped by our house on September 6th, 2024, and took my beloved wife, Sybil Frances Ferguson (nee Reaves), 73, back with Him to the place He had prepared for her. Now she is living life more abundantly and serving the Lord in the expanse of Heaven.

While on earth, she spent her life making a beautiful and peaceful home and garden where family and visitors felt welcome, comfortable, and safe. She was a wonderful conversationalist who listened more than she spoke and was more interested in others than herself. She knew what she wanted and strived to achieve it. Sybil was a loyal and faithful wife who worked hard to make her husband’s life better. She personified the “Wife of Noble Character” in Proverbs 31. She had a green thumb and maintained a traffic stopping front yard flower garden.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bruce, and her two brothers John and James. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 3:23-24 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

John 17:3 – And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

I Would Much Rather Everyone Just Talk To Each Other And Remember The Times We Spent Together, And Reminisce About It. Don’t Lose Those Connections With People. I Know It Happens, And It’s Sad.”

She was a wonderful neighbor. Our neighborhood is less friendly without her.

  3. Nancy Scott says:

Sybil’s smile would light up a room. Sybil had a quiet sweet spirit about her and always took an interest in others. Our families were introduced through Tulsa Bible Church many years ago. Sybil babysat for our family a few times when we were kids. Ha! I don’t know how she survived! I’ll never forget what wonderful care that Sybil gave her Dad as he got older.

Bruce, I hope that knowing others care will help ease your grief. You were married for many years and the love she had for you was evident in her smile. She was your life companion and loved you very much.

Heaven is a beautiful place and we shall see her again.
