Obituary
On January 22,1996 Terry Ray Whited was born to parents, Gerry Sirtigo Whited and Valleria Ann Crawley. He attended schools at Walt Whitman, Kipp and graduated from Central High School. Terry worked at QT for 5 years and then transitioned into food service where he found his love for cooking, especially grilling no matter the occasion, he even created his own special dish called “Creole Corn” Terry was always full of life and optimistic no matter the obstacles he believed that things would work out.
“As most knew Terry was my twin, but to me he was more than that. He was my protector, my partner in crime & one of my biggest supporters. We navigated a lot of life’s journeys together and our bond was indescribable. Terry’s infectious smile & laugh made my days better. There’s no love like the love of a brother. The role he played in my life & his presence was truly a gift & our memories together will continue to guide me.”

“The words to express what he meant to us don’t exist. Nothing can completely capture who he was. Terry was a lot of things for a lot of people. He was my voice of reason as well as my reason for my voice. He is where I learned to carry myself with confidence and speak my mind. I watched him carefully and noted how he carried himself. People gravitated towards my big brother like no one l’ve ever seen, it wasn’t simply because of his charisma and infectious smile. My brother genuinely cared for the people around him, and people picked up on that. He loved harder than anyone, and it showed in his actions. Who he was most was a provider. He was the person you needed him to be at any moment, whether it was a friend to listen to, a friend to check on you, or the person to make you laugh when you felt you couldn’t. Terry was your guy, and he would let you know it too. Not only was he expressive about his feelings but very vocal as well.”

“Terry was truly one of a kind, always ready with a positive and encouraging word to uplift anyone he encountered. His loving nature was evident in everything he did, constantly putting others before himself, he had a unique ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Even though I’m his big sister, Terry was always looking out for me! I will forever cherish the conversations, the laughter, and the memories we made during our time together!”

“God blessed me with two nephews, Terry was my first. Very early in his life we established the foundation of our relationship. I shared with him Bible stories and told him that an uncle and nephew relationship is a biblical relationship, we both respected that to the very end. Terry was a good guy, he had a kind heart and was always trying to help someone, and he would share whatever he had. In my opinion, Terry was an excellent nephew. He was always very respectful, protective of me, and always kind to me. Without a doubt I knew that he loved me because he told me every day. He really enjoyed being a girl dad, and his daughters were very important to him. For the past 2 years, he and I talked almost every day sometimes about life, about love, about the future and a lot about God. He was not ashamed of his faith, and he knew he was blessed. Terry had one of the most beautiful smiles I’ve ever seen, and he shared it a lot, we laughed about everything. Terry was very proud of his family(past and present)and always enjoyed going to family functions. I have a lot of emotions when I think about my nephew, but mostly I feel grateful that I had him for 28 years. If I could tell him four words…it would be the same four words he heard every time he and I parted…. I love you too nephew!”
