Obituary

Mrs. Tinnie Jean Fort, 79, passed into eternity on Friday, May 2, 2014 in Collinsville, OK. Mrs. Fort was born January 21, 1935 in Broken Bow, OK to Gubie W. and Agnes (Angel) Fisher. Mom was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Tulsa, OK. Mrs. Fort was a homemaker for most of her life. Raising her children and running her rental house business she loved her children and grandchildren, taking them to Sunday school every Sunday. She would even take the neighbor kids to church with her. She also drove the “Church Bus”, which was really her own personal station wagon. After her children were older, Tinnie began working outside her home at a daycare center. There she became attached to a little boy reminding her of her son Howard. She also worked for what was then called the Oil and Gas Journal assembling the papers for distribution. Later she went to work as a cashier in the cafeteria for Tulsa Regional Medical Center. In her later years she had her best job as “just a Grandma”. She always made time for her grandchildren, often changing her plans so they could come visit her on the weekends. Her children remember her with smiles as they describe her a strict disciplinarian with a great sense of humor. Mrs. Tinnie Jean Fort, wife, mother, businesswoman, grandma, sister, friend and Christian…..she lived a full life and touched the lives of those around her. Tinnie is survived by her three children; James Fort Jr. (Debbie), Howard Fort (Jeannie), Glenda Bryant (Duane). Eight Grandchildren; Ashlea Justice, Brandon Ashlock, Andrea Burgess, Krysatal Ashloch, Erika Fort, James Fort III, Lee Fort and Cory Bryant. Nine Great Grandchildren; Adrian Fort, Raymond, Hunter Justice, Taylor Justice, Lucinda Foreman, Kaydyn Scarborough, Jesse Justice, Diana Burges, and Christyanna Burgess. Tinnie is preceded in death by her husband James Fort Sr., parents, Granddaughter Chelcea Fort, Brother Gurie W. Fisher; sisters Margaret Gibbs, Louise Shatwell, and Ruthie Long She was much loved and will be greatly missed
