Obituary

Tracey Wendell Hill was born May 24, 1963 to the parents of Doris Ann and Thomas Wilson Hill. He was the middle child of three and was always considered as the special one.

Tracey played flag football in his younger years and was in the marching band for McLain High School where graduated in 1985. As a teenager, one of his first jobs was at Rest Haven Nursing Home where his compassion for others continued throughout his lifetime. He also enjoyed working for Doubletree Hotels as a banquet person, where somehow, he was always part of the party. He held various maintenance jobs here and in Beaumont, Texas. It was during those times that Tracey became disabled from fulltime employment.

Tracey enjoyed attending Gethsemane Baptist Church as well as Church of the Living God. He was a self-taught pianist and he often played on his home piano, his one-line song, “Pray for Me!”

Preceding him in death include his parental and maternal grandparents and his father. Also awaiting Tracey’s arrival are his mother, his favorite Aunt Eardia Mae and his nephew, Brandon Hill, where I’m sure they will soon be playing dominos or cards.

Tracey leaves to mourn his passing his older sister, Brenda Hill, his younger sister, Jennifer Pickens, two nieces, Brittney Hill and Jamia Howze, a nephew, Kendon Pickens, great nephew, Ryan Factory, two close cousins, Kevin Richards and Tony Burkhoulter all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind family in Brookeland, Texas who stayed in constant contact with him to the end. He also leaves many other family members scattered throughout the states and his many friends who affectionately call him brother or Uncle Tracey.

Tracey W. Hill will be sincerely missed!

  2. TO THE FAMILY OF TRACEY WENDELL HILL:

Matthew 5:4 – Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.

I remember Tracey when I was employed at McLain High School in the Library-Media Center and he was a student there. I would run into him now and then but I hadn’t seen him in years. He always greeted you with a smile and was kind, considerate and had a pleasant personality.

My condolences to the family and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. 🙏🏽

May the fond memories you hold dear bring a smile to your face and lighten your heart in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. ??

    Much love,

    Brenda Shaw-Morris

  3. I lay awake not believing that I will never see or hear your voice again.
