Obituary

Tressie was born in Wagoner County, Oklahoma to Jim Eddie Hopkins and Roxanna Wynn-Hopkins. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Wagoner, Oklahoma on May 24, 1951. She met and later married Cornell Nathan Sr. on March 8, 1955. To this union four boys were born. Tressie worked for St. John Medical Center as a nurse assistant for 29 years before retiring. In 1979 she received the Brotherhood Award from St. John Medical Center for her outstanding work as a nurse assistant and for best exemplifying the spirit of St. John Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cornell Nathan Sr., her son Reginald Nathan, her parents, her siblings Artie Mae Johnson, Ninus Hopkins Sr., James Hopkins, and Samuel Hopkins.

Left to treasure her memory are her children Cornell Nathan Jr (Territa), Perry Nathan (Marizel), and Gary Nathan. Grandchildren Sean Nathan, Makesha Nathan, Jhari Nathan, Nathanael Nathan, Lydia Nathan, and several great-grandchildren. Her sisters Yvonne Hopkins-Asberry and Ruth Hopkins-Ratliff. And a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.Viewing for Ms. Nathan will be Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 3pm-8pm and Friday, July 20, 2018 from 9am-8pm at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 East Third Street, Tulsa Oklahoma 74104. No services will be held at this time.
