Obituary

Verda Mae Clemmons was born on January 1, 1929 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was the only child born to Helen Rentie and Sterling Clemmons (both proceeded her in death). Verda accepted Christ at an early age and attended a private school in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated as valedictorian. She married Hudson Meadors Jr. on January 1, 1950. Hudson and Verda Meadors celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. Verda Meadors birthed 3 sons, Hudson Meadors III of Los Angeles, CA; the late Randy Meadors; and Keenan Meadors (wife, Sherry) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition, Verda Meadors will be missed by her 7 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, daughter, and wife. Verda was a licensed insurance agent for over 30 years, she also enjoyed traveling. Her domestic travels included visiting West Point, New York to witnesss her grandson graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point and Washington, DC to celebrate her granddaughter’s graduation from Howard University’s Graduate School of Social Work. She traveled abroad to many places earlier in life including Spain and enjoyed multiple trips to the Bahamas. Verda was a member of the Tenth and Rockford Church of Christ and leaves to cherish her memory a host of beloved relatives and friends.
