Obituary

Vernon L. McCaslin Sr., a man loved so dearly, passed away April 26, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Vernon was born November 4, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Elmer Bud McCaslin and Edith Marie (Langford) McCaslin. Vernon joined the Air Force and served as a Radar Technician with Aircraft Systems in the Korean War. Vernon worked as a Structural Mechanic & Electrician in the Aircraft Industry, but he was a man of many talents that were quite varied. In fact, there was almost nothing that Vernon couldn’t do. Vernon was a Golden Gloves Champion who fought at Madison Square Garden in NYC in his Air Force years. He and his wife, Lavetta owned and operated a Jewelry Store where Lavetta would design the jewelry and Vernon would make it. They were quite the team. He even served as a Scout Master for a period of time. Vernon was a good man who loved the Lord and served as a 32Mason. He was preceded in death by; his parents; brothers, Alan & Richard; and a grandson, DeWayne Allen. He is survived by his loving wife, Lavetta; his brother, Larry McCaslin; his sister, Shirley Stewart, both of Texas; his four sons, Vernon McCaslin Jr. and Nancy Tran of Santa Barbara California, Steve McCaslin of Tulsa, Bud McCaslin of Tulsa and Keith and his wife Natalie McCaslin of Cleveland, Oklahoma; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Jeff, Allen, and Harley Paige.
