Obituary

Vernon Lee Dillion, 93, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in Brookdale Midtown Assisted Living in Tulsa. He was born in Tupelo, Oklahoma on July 15, 1925 to William T. and Bessie Johnson Dillion

He grew up and graduated from high school in Weleetka, Oklahoma.

After high school, Vernon worked for Asplundh Tree Company and then as a machine operator for Baird Manufacturing Company until he retired from the role of shop foreman.

Outside of work, Vernon dedicated himself to the service of the Lord. He was a strong supporter of Home Gardens Assembly of God until that church relocated and renamed itself as Calvary Temple Assembly of God. He assisted in procuring the land, constructing the building and maintaining the building for Calvary Temple as well as teaching the Word of God and leading the Royal Rangers program for young boys.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorotha Dillion (“Dottie”); brothers: “E.J.” and “Billy O.” and by his son-in-law “Mike Kier”. He is survived by his brother, “Hack” and wife Christine; his sister, Zola Ramey; daughters: Theresa Dillion, Deborah Willemstein and her husband, Craig, Laura Claghorn and her husband, Keith; five grandsons: Eric, Blair and Dustin Claghorn and Sammy Joe and Damon Hendrix; ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on January 21, 2019 at 10:00am at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church, 4701 W. Edison St. Tulsa, OK 74127
