Obituary

Victoria E. Bowman (Vicky) passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born on November 14, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents Orren and Mary (Gray) Miller. She grew up near downtown Little Rock with one brother, Randy Miller.She was a proud graduate of Little Rock Central High School. After graduation, she began work as a Clerk Typist for the Veterans Administration Healthcare Center at Fort Roots in North Little Rock. She later advanced to the position of Office Manager for the Engineering Department. She retired from the Veterans Administration in 2002 after 42 years of service.

In her retirement, Vicky spent time reading and taking care of her many cats and three dogs. In 2012, she moved to Tulsa to be with her family. In Tulsa, she enjoyed trips to the area museums and libraries. She particularly enjoyed a road trip to Oklahoma City with a tour of Bricktown and a cruise on the Bricktown Water Taxi with a stop at Pops restaurant in Arcadia and the sights coming back to Tulsa on Route 66. One of her favorite activities was the Tulsa State Fair which she attended every year, even when confined to a wheelchair.

Vicky is survived by her daughter, Rebecca King, Son-in-law Chris and granddaughter, Marie all in Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and husband, T.J. Bowman.

The family would like to thank the staff at Leisure Village Health Care in Tulsa for the loving care given to her these past several years, especially during this time of Covid-19. Also, the staff of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Ascension St. John Medical Center Tulsa for their compassionate care at her passing.
