Obituary

Virgie Mae Caple was born on October 10th, 1930 to Lacy and Myrtle Hill. She was the apple of her daddy’s eye; he would dress her like a boy for the boy he never had. She had to quit school when she was in 8th grade to help support her mama after her daddy’s unexpected passing. She made a life for herself through picking cotton at an early age. She loved her mama and sisters and would do anything to help them. She met her future husband Rocky at a taping of a show he was doing at WSM in Nashville, TN and they fell in love. They married and had 4 children together all of which were the jewels of her eye. She was a devoted wife and mother, she worked tirelessly to perfect our house into a home. She was a special wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, mom and nanny to countless family and friends. She went out of her way to find the good in everyone. She lived her life for the Lord every moment of her life. She taught her children and grandchildren about Jesus and thanked him every day for her family. She sacrificed all for her babies and loved her family unconditionally with love and affection. She taught forgiveness and how important it was with a kind word, a scripture, a kiss and a hug. She loved her Husband through thick and thin and upon his death stayed loyal only to him for the rest of her days. There’s not enough words of love and respect to describe what a beautiful lady she was to so many. Her mansion was built a long time ago and we her family and friends witnessed an angel on earth! She is walking the streets of gold now!! Rest in Peace.

Virgie was preceded in death by her parents Lacy & Myrtle Hill, sisters Carolynn and Dorothy, Her daughter Carole “Lynn” Caple-Beck and her husband of more than 60 years Ira Burton “Rocky” Caple. She is survived by sister Bonnie Lee Jones, 3 Sons, Jerry Thomas Caple, William “Bruce” Caple and Roger Burton Caple.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Aaron Beck, Kristi Beck-Garland, Blake Maggia, Courtni Caple, Lindsey Caple, Lacy Caple, Lauren Caple, Joshua Caple, Riley Caple, Braden Caple and Chandler Caple. Left to also cherish her memory is her 16 great grandchildren. She lived a full and complete life and loved every birth and life as if they were her first.

  3. Virgie was always so kind to me. I don’t think an unkind word could ever be spoken of her. She was the kind of person we all aspire to be. Well done Virgie! Say hello to Rocky for me.
