Obituary

Ninety-two years ago Delbert and Mary Tennessee Yeager of Moody, Missouri welcomed the birth of their fourth of six children, Virginia Blanche Yeager. With joy and celebration they welcomed her into their small farm life on May 7, 1919. On December 17, 2011, her family mourned her loss and celebrated her life. She leaves a legacy of family, faith, hope and love. Virginia Blanche (Yeager) Dorris Hunter moved to Tulsa in the early 1940s. Here she raised her only daughter, Mary Florene, and worked in a variety of roles as a Douglas riveter, Greys Cleaners clerk, and TG&Y fabric department supervisor. In 1974 she opened Blanche’s Poodle Grooming Shop and managed a successful small-business until she retired in 1992. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, Sunday school teacher, Grandmother (Granny), and life-long friend. She was a stranger to no one, particularly those in need. Her humor lightened our lives and was her coat of armor during the tough times. Her faith was never ending. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ray Dorris and Max Hunter, brothers Claude Yeager and Charlie Yeager, sisters Nadine Collins, Julie Orr, Mildred Collins, and grandson Rock Alan Hoffman. She is survived by her daughter Mary (Flo) Hoffman and son-in-law Darrell Hoffman of Owasso, granddaughter Michelle Hoffman and partner Janet Walker of Tulsa, granddaughter Debbie Hoffman of Tulsa, great-grandchildren Darrell Brown, Elizabeth Hoffman and Patrick Hoffman all of Owasso, great-great granddaughter Baylee Hoffman of Meeker, and sister Emma Roberts of Cabool, Missouri. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Floral Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Homelife Association or John 3:16 Mission. www.Butler-Stumpff.com
