January 31, 1942.         July 13, 2024

Visha was the daughter of Haskell and Efleadia Morris. Visha was of German descent and a proud member of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma.

Visha Efleadia Morris was born in Abilene, Texas on January 31, 1942, while her father was in the Army and stationed nearby Camp Barkley, Texas. After her father was discharged, the family returned to Sand Springs, Oklahoma where she remained during her growing up years. After graduating from Sand Springs High School, she worked in Tulsa and Sand Springs for a short period of time before joining the US Army. She made a career out of the Military and retired at the rank of Staff Sargent Retired US Army.

Her 20-year Army career was spent as an Information Technology specialist for the US Army.

While in the US Army, Visha reported to duty station at Fort Riley, Kansas, Germany, West Point, and Presidio, California. She liked to visit Paris and Hawaii. Her main enjoyment in life were plants, flowers, pets and family.

Visha’s Father, Brothers, Sister and Cousins also served in the military. Haskell Morris Sr. US Army; Robert Morris US Navy; Laddie Morris, US Navy and Marine Corps, Henry Morris, USMC. Laddie and Henry Morris were both Vietnam Combat Veteran with US Marine Corps.

She was preceded in death by her parents plus a younger sister, Jane Morris who died at an early age, and a brother, Joseph who also died at an early age, as well as brothers: Robert Morris, Laddie Morris, and Henry Morris, all who passed on before her.

Visha is survived by sister, Sarah Tilden and husband Richard Tilden of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a brother, Haskell Morris, Jr. and his wife Debbie Morris of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, cousin, Dean Ferguson of Lexington, Kentucky, nephewn Laddie Morris Jr, nieces: Kristi Kubalek, Kerri Taylor, Sammi Johnson, Emily Mendoza and Babette Harrell; plus many great nephews and great nieces. Visha was well loved by many people.

Visha’s family wishes to thank the staff of the First and Third floor of Veteran Care Center, Claremore, Oklahoma for their care of Visha.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 E. 3rd St., Tulsa, OK 74104.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2:00 p.m., at New Hope Cemetery – Spiro, Oklahoma.
