Weirleis Asa Flax On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, Weirleis passed away at his home in Wagoner, OK at the age of 53. Weirleis was born on February 21, 1962 at his parents’ home in Chicago, IL. He was the third son and sixth child of Yvonne Akers and Sheridan Shafter Flax, I. Weirleis lived in Chicago and Pembroke, IL for most of his young life. His family moved to New Orleans, LA during his high school years where he resided until Hurricane Katrina shifted he and his family about. He finally settled in Wagoner, OK where he remained until God called him home. Weirleis loved landscaping and keeping it green where he resided. He worked at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and for the city of New Orleans where he kept it green’. He continued landscaping work in the city of Wagoner, OK working occasionally with a friend. He was a lovable, personable person. He was quick witted and enjoyed having fun at various functions in those areas where he lived. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing, watching football on Sundays and chatting with his neighbors. He was never at a loss for words and was able to bring a smile to the face of an unhappy person. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Weirleis is preceded in death by his father, Sheridan Shafter Flax I, his niece Rachel “Keedy” Johnson and his nephew Micah Newman. Weirleis is survived by his mate, Rockell Allen his mother, Yvonne Akers Flax, his sisters, Sharon Flax Moon, Vibha Flax Robinson (Lawrence), Sylvia Flax Price, Silviarena Veneta Flax, his brothers, Sheridan Shafter Flax II, Veryl Micah Flax, Alpha Emmett Flax and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers or notes of condolences, please hug your loved ones who are close and send words of encouragement and love to your cherished ones who are far away.
