Obituary

I was born June 18th, 1966, to my loving mother, Annie Lee Davis, and my Will Thomas Jr. I grew up in a home of love, discipline, fun, and most of all, a home that loved and honored God.

I grew up in a home of prayer. I am one of 12 children. My sisters and brothers Phil, Will, Gerald,

Leandra, Chris, Mike, Ronnie, Larry, Annette, Natalie, and Andrea made growing up fun. We all were very close growing up and having a lifetime of memories together.

Our family dog was named Duke. Our parents didn’t buy dog food for him. Duke ate what we ate.

I remember momma would make him a plate, too. I grew up when we played outside, went on adventures, we came home when the street lights came on, and we ragged on each other (out of love) My life wasn’t always peaches and cream. We suffered the loss of my Father Will Thomas Jr. and my brother Gerald early on. I wish I could say that was the only loss our family would suffer, but there were many more. I thoroughly enjoyed being around my family. I was a family man. I loved to feed them and fellowship with them. My sister Ann and I were two peas in a pod she nicked, name me… me me. She stated that a lot of our sisters and brothers looked up to me. I was surprised to know that. Born and raised in St. Louis… I went to Southwest High School, then later Job Corp, where I graduated. I worked a few jobs after, but nothing really felt like a career. I decided to have a fresh start, so I decided to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma. My brother Mike already lived there. Little did I know that several of my siblings would make Tulsa their home as well in the years to come. A few months after I moved to Tulsa, I met Angela Miller and her daughter Angelique Miller by chance… Things moved very quickly in less than 6 months. Angela & I were husband and wife. Our life consisted of going to church, prayer, hard work, and dedication, and our favorite pass time was the 3 of us playing board games together (Especially monopoly.) I can’t say someone wouldn’t go to bed angry afterward, lol. Angela and I went to a church revival that was happening in our apartments, and the pastor told my wife that she would have a baby by the end of the year. Shortly thereafter, we found out that we were pregnant with a baby girl. Anjae’ after my wife had suffered many complications trying to conceive over the years. We were blessed with our miracle. Unfortunately, our marriage ended due to mistakes on both sides, but as we grew up, we got older and wiser. We figured out a way to co parent for our girls, and the rest is history. When I moved to Tulsa, I worked at the Williams building doing cleaning and maintenance. Then, at Hillcrest in laundry, then I switched to dietary. A

couple of years later, I started at American Airlines, where I remained for almost 30 years until my

passing. I worked my way up with hard work and dedication. I taught my daughters to always be early for work. God blessed me not to be laid off. When the company downsized several times over the years. I was a hard worker. I started in parts washing and ended up as a mechanic. I received several promotions over the years. I loved my family. I was a dedicated father to my two beautiful daughters, Anjae & Angelique. I was a dedicated paw paw to twins Nicholai & Savien. (My Buddies) I was the brother, and uncle that was there in my family’s time of need. Whether it was financial, a listening ear, or teaching my

nephews how to dress, how to tie or tie, or most of all… how to wear cologne. (A man should always smell good!) I believed you dress how you want to be addressed. Some off my hobbies were…Cooking & and Making BBQ. (My girls called me the grill master!!! Lol)I made a BBQ sauce that was out of this world! I LOVE to dress. My brothers Will & Larry taught me how to wear a suit and coordinate. And I took it and ran with it. I loved watching movies. Anything Adam Sandler or Jim Carey were my favorites. Me and my girls have so many quotes and inside jokes from all the movies we watched over the years. I loved having get-togethers, eating good food, laughing, reminiscing, listening to old school, and

dancing. Especially with my daughters In my last days, I spoke with my daughters about some of my mistakes and regrets… but they were okay. Anjae replied, “it’s okay, Daddy.” Angelique said, “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. We all have a chapter in our book that we don’t read out loud. In my final days, I was surrounded by the love of my daughters, my nieces and nephews, and I left this life surrounded by love. I tried to fight to stay with you all. But God had other plans… God gave me the time and grace to get my affairs in order, talk to my brothers and sisters, and some of my nieces and nephews. I went out singing and dancing. Because I knew where I was going and who would be waiting to welcome me on the other side. My Dad Will Thomas Jr, My mother Annie Davis, my brothers Gerald, Leandra (Dee Dee), Phil, Larry, and Mike. And my beautiful sister Annette Thomas. I have nieces and nephews there to great me as well. I am home! Don’t worry about me. I am with God and our family. I leave to cherish a lifetime of beautiful memories…. My daughters Anjae’ Thomas and Angelique Miller-Thomas My son Ontiaro Miller. Nicholai Taylor & Savien Taylor and Sirius Simon. My significant other Elizabeth Surratt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I will see you all again!!! Until then, live your life to the fullest. Seek God for wisdom, strength, and understanding.

Visitation for Mr. Thomas will be held on Friday, May 31, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 E. 3rd St., Tulsa, OK 74104.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1,.  at 12:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Memorial Chapel.
