Obituary

Rosie Lee Benson born January 4, 1934 to Johnnie (A.J) Bowens and Ivaann Bowens in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rosie was the youngest daughter of three.

Rosie loved the country life and enjoyed fishing, especially if it meant spending time with her family. Many people over the years enjoyed Rosie’s company and gift for bringing a smile to their face.

In Rosie’s early twenties she met and married Hobert Benson. To this union nine beautiful children were born. Rosie also became a loving mother to Hobert’s children prior to their union, blending their families to become one.  Rosie loved her family deeply and she was definitely the Queen on the Castle.

 

 

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Hobert Benson; her mother and father Johnnie and Ivaann Bowens; her sisters Mary Carney and Betty Irvin; Three sons Jimmy Benson, Tommy Benson, and Marlon Benson; her daughter Credell Carroll. Rosie also preceded in death with a host of grandchildren, aunts, and uncles.

To cherish her memories Rosie leaves behind: four sons Larry (Pamela) Benson, David (Debra) Benson, Darrell Benson, Anthony (LaTonya) Benson; four daughters: Delphine (Melvin) Fletcher, Cynthia Benson Antoinette (Eric) Walker, and Lisa (Bruce) White; two daughters in law: Anna Benson, Shawn Benson; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
