Archie Lee Anthony, Jr. was born July 15, 1948 to the proud parents Archie Lee Anthony, Sr. and Irma Jean Anthony in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was one of four children born into this marriage. His mother and father preceded him in death.
Archie Jr., as he was affectionately called, received his early education in Tulsa Public Schools where he attended Dunbar Elementary School, Carver Middle School and Booker T. Washington High School. While in high school he was a member of the track team and ran Cross Country. He was a member of the mighty class of 1966. Upon graduation from high school he attended 2 years at Oklahoma State University. Before he could complete his college education he was drafted into the US Army, where he served 2 years.
At a tender age he was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Thomas O. Chappell, Sr.
His work career included employment at American Airlines and AMR where he worked as a Computer Programmer until his retirement. After his retirement from American Americans he worked as a Freelance Writer, Commercial Lender, Crossroads, Ltd., Senior Financial Consultant at Southern Commercial Corp., and Hewlett-Packard. He was a jack of many trades.
Archie Jr. leaves to mourn his passing Karen, his siblings Gerald Eugene, Houston, TX, Jacquelyn Evon (Lemmel), Edwyna LaShaune, Carol Stream, IL, Arkitia (Mike), and Anitia LeSha’, Atlanta, GA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends to cherish his memory. He was loved by many.
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelations 21:4.
