Obituary

Charles O. Foster, Sr., 90, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on April 1, 2020.

Mr. Foster was born on February 11, 1930 in Caddo, Oklahoma.

Charles and Lula Foster were married on September 6, 1954 in Bergman, Arkansas. Charles served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1953 during the Korean War. He was in the 5th Regimental Combat Team while in Korea. He was a switchboard operator while across the 38th parallel in North Korea. For over 20 years, he attended his military reunions, which he loved. He enjoyed seeing the men he knew during his time spent in Korea as well as making new friends there. He was also a retired mechanic.

Charles loved fishing on all the different Oklahoma lakes, camping out, and travelling. During their life together, Charles, Lula, and their daughter, Gladys visited 48 states. After Lula passed away, Gladys took her dad to North Dakota, making that a total of 49 states visited.

Charles was preceded in the death by his wife, Lula Bailey Foster, who passed away on August 8, 2009, father, Johnnie G. Foster passing in May 1970, mother, Gladys A. Marcum Foster passing in 1938, and brothers: Don Foster who passed in 2002 and Frank Foster who passed in 1986.   

Left to cherish Charles’ memory include his daughter, Gladys Foster (Tulsa, Oklahoma), son, Charles O. Foster, Jr. (Aiken, South Carolina), daughter-in-law, Lynn Foster (Aiken, South Carolina), granddaughter, Emily Lynn Foster Jarvis and her husband Charles Jarvis (Aiken, South Carolina), several cousins, and an uncle.
