Obituary
HILBURN, Flora Fern, 86, passed from this life on April 22, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on April 10, 1924 in Idabell, Oklahoma, to Claude and Eva (Boyd) Helt. She was a homemaker. The Bible was her life, and she was a wonderful Christian woman who lived her life by it. She loved church and church work and spent many hours making Barbi clothes, homemade fudge, peanut brittle, and date candy to sell at the church bazaars. Mrs. Hilburn was a wonderful mother who loved to laugh. She called her twin daughters Pete and Repeat. Even when they tried her patience, she was still a loving and wonderful mother. She was a very good cook who could make a meal out of nothing. Some of her family’s favorites were chocolate cake, beans, chili, broccoli and cheese casserole (aka “The Green stuff”), and her very famous prune cake! She is survived by twin daughters: Judith Shepherd (Waymond) of Nashville, Tennessee; Janet Harwood (Donald Ray) of Chelsea, Oklahoma; grandsons: Allen Shepherd of Charlestown, Indiana; Karl Shepherd of Nashville, Tennessee; Wayne Harwood of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Kevin Harwood of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great-grandson: Ray Harwood of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brothers: Ray Helt of Claremore, Oklahoma; Dewey Helt of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters: Geneva Hackler of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Opal Valentine of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home, 2010 E. Third Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 5111 South Memorial Dr., Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Reverend Kenneth Horn officiating. I am so very sorry for your loss. Please know that God will comfort and sustain you. Psalms 34:18 says that He is near to those broken at heart and saves those crushed in spirit. Please keep His promises close to your heart. I offer my deepest sympathies to your entire family.
