Obituary

On the morning of May 1 1974 a baby boy was born  to Earl and Dorthenia Edwards. They named him Joseph Lee.  Joseph Lee attended Haskell Schools where he played basketball and football before graduating.  As a youngster he received Christ as his personal Savior at his home church Mount Zion Baptist Church.  As an adult he was a faithful member of Victory Christian Center where he loved attending with his wife April.

Joseph enjoyed fishing, attending church, reading his bible, riding horses,listening to music, playing his guitar as well as working on cars in which he turned into his own Automotive shop with his brother Earl (Wayne) in which they named DUKE BOYS in honor of their father.  Joseph stayed within automotive after closing the shop and worked in Management in the Automotive Department for Walmart for the past 8 years, which is where he met his soulmate, his loving wife April. Joseph and April married onNovember 7, 2020.

He went home to be with the Lord, Monday September 6th,2021.  Preceding him in transition are his parents Earl Edwards, Sr. and Dorthenia Newton and one brother Steven Edwards.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memories ,his loving wife April of the home. 3 boys Joseph Edwards Jr. (Jill) of Oklahoma City, Jeffery Edwards and Damien Hage  of Okmulgee and the girl he loved and raised like thedaughter he never had, Shamecca Hage (Okmulgee), as well as a host of grandchildren.  His sister Felicia Cornwell (Roy) of Okmulgee, Gloria Terry,  Yolanda  Ballard, DeWayne Edwards, Shalonda Kimble and Karen Roach all of Tulsa, Jefferson Edwards of Oklahoma City, Rothenia Mayhue (Henry)of Broken Arrow.  Dennis Edwards and Pam Edwards of California. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
