Obituary

Joyce Glenn Caine, born on April 28th, 1943, in Bryan, Texas, was a remarkable symbol of love and resilience, embraced by the love of Zeffer Lee Williams and LW Williams Sr. As the eldest among four siblings, she held dear the bonds she shared with her brother and sisters, Esta Kelley, Willie Pearl Hayes, and L.W Williams Jr., all of whom she preceded in death, as well as her parents. Joyce illuminated the world with her delightful, vibrant spirit, radiating warmth and joy wherever she went. Her zest for life and her deep devotion to serving God were evident to all who knew her, making her a beloved and cherished member of her community.

During her early years in Wichita, Kansas, Joyce found solace and spiritual enrichment at Shiloh Baptist Church, where she received her baptism. Additionally, at East High School, she cultivated enduring friendships that stood the test of time. In 1975, she made the move to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she nurtured and raised her family.

Joyce’s greatest joy stemmed from her journey of motherhood, where she lovingly welcomed eight cherished souls into the world and embraced other children as her own: Brigette Haywood, Vincent Hare (wed to Debra Hare), Rochelle Hare, Regina Berry (wed to Theo Berry), Shawn McBee (wed to Ronald McBee), Lisa McKnight, Sidney McKnight, Martis Hopkins, Harry Robinson, and Ronald McKnight Sr., who preceded her in death, forever held close in memory. Additionally, she embraced stepchildren Lucinna Caine and LaDonna Caine with the same love and care.

Throughout her life’s journey, Joyce formed profound connections with four husbands: Howard Hare in 1959, Sidney McKnight in 1965, Clarence Hopkins in 1979, and notably, Grover Caine in 1987 and once more in 2005. Each partnership brought its own blessings and lessons, enriching her life in diverse ways. Joyce preceded all of her husbands in death, including her last beloved husband, Grover Caine, whom she held dear in her heart until the end.

Her faith wasn’t just a belief; it illuminated her path, leading her to become a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church. There, she actively served as a seasoned saint and Missionette under the guidance of Pastor LL Tisdale and Pastor Weldon Tisdale. Her unwavering commitment on the medical board showcased her dedication to serving others. Furthermore, she dedicated her professional life to Hillcrest Medical Center, where she worked diligently until her retirement.
