Obituary

Leona Rae Benigas, age 93 died Sunday January 28, 2018 in Pocatello, Idaho.  She was born June 12, 1924 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Arthur T. and Maggie (Crain) Wright.

She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa.  She then graduated from Central Bible Institute in 1945 and served as a missionary in the Kentucky Mountains during the 1940’s. She met her future husband there.  After they married they served as Assemblies of God pastors in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Kansas.  Following the death of her husband, she retired to Tulsa and lived with her sister for a number of years before relocating to West Virginia and then Idaho to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anthony Benigas, two brothers, Arthur Wright and Carl Wright and four sisters, Leta Poteet, Ottie Neal, Mary Townsend, and Corine Townsend. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Mack (Cliff) of Pocatello, Idaho, two sons, Thomas Benigas (Phyllis) of Brussels, Belgium, Jonathan Benigas (Susan) of Chesterfield, Missouri, two grandchildren, Amanda Benigas Rule and Anthony Brady Benigas, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin Thursday February 8, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home.Funeral services will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa, OK with Rev. Jonathan Wakefield officiating.
