Obituary

Louis Edward Perry Jr. (Butch), formerly of McAlester, passed away on April 19, 2024 in Broken Arrow. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Church of Christ, 429 W Tyler, McAlester, OK.
Butch was born February 15, 1940 in Bugtussle, OK to Louis & Myrtle (Hayes) Perry. He married the love of his life, Ruth Bowen, on March 22, 1963 in McAlester, OK. Together they raised 2 children. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1958. He served as a Pittsburg County Deputy for many years before joining his family at Perry & Sons Roofing. Butch enjoyed being active in the Oddfellow organization, serving as State Grand Master for a term. Though nothing brought him greater pleasure than spending time with his family.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Louis & Myrtle Perry; his wife, Ruth; brother-in-laws, Virgil Bowen, Ronnie Bowen Sr, Edwin Bowen; and mother & father-in-law, Willis & Oral Bowen.
Survivors include his son, Warren Perry of Keifer; his daughter and son-in-law, Terry & Vernon Jenkins of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Landy Pilkerton and husband Tony, Jason McElyea, Jenny Thai and husband Mark, Julie McElyea, David Perry and wife Kaitlyn, Warren Perry and wife Taylor, Edward Perry, Stasea Perry, and Terren Perry; his brothers, Eugene Perry and wife Linda, William Perry and wife Sharon, Jerry Perry and wife Barbara; sisters, Mary Hyde and husband Stanley, Diana Jernigen and husband Ralph; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
