Obituary

On November 14, 1954 Norma and Roy Johnson welcomed their only child and son into the world, Michael Gerard Johnson.  The loss of his Father, Roy, who died while serving in the military occurred before Michael was six months old. The bond between Michael and his Mother, Norma, grew strong with a dependence and unquestionable love for one another.  Although their commitment to one another was paramount, they both also shared a love and commitment of family in general.  They enjoyed spending special occasions with family and good food.  Norma was dedicated in never failing to recognize the birthdays of those she held dear; a tradition Michael carried on with pride after his Mother’s passing.

Michael graduated from Booker T. Washington in 1973 and subsequently held several different positions in the Supply and Distribution Industries. His hidden dream was to become an Architect. Although Michael lead a quiet and simple life with simple pleasures (one of which was his love of a white sheet cake with white icing … no special occasion required) he was far from a simple mind.  He had a thirst for information and became an avid reader with enjoyment of discussions regarding politics and world happenings.  His very favorite pastime was movie viewing and he accumulated quite a collection.  

Michael was preceded in death by his father Roy, and mother Norma.  Michael is survived by his Aunt and Uncle Faye and Dale Hogg, cousins Trina Casteel and husband Robby, Keenan Hogg and wife Shonda, Darnell Jackson, Robert Jackson Jr., Marcus Jackson, and Sol James.
