Obituary

Mr. Jones was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma 12-7-1938 but soon moved to El Reno, Oklahoma.  After the age of about twelve he spent his summers working the Wheat Harvest with his Uncle D (William Clayton is Aunt Jeannie and cousin Sandra Clayton, traveling from Texas to Montana.

He graduated from El Reno High School in 1956. He received his associate degree from Tulsa Junior College in 1975.  He earned a B.S. in Police Science in 1976 at Northeastern  Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah.  In 1981 he earned a master degree at NEOSU. He earned his Ph.D at Oklahoma State University in 1987.  He became a Licensed Professional Counselor on 7-1-1993.

RC was hired by the City of Tulsa Police Department on 9-4-1973 and attained the rank of Corporal.  During his career he was an instructor at the Tulsa Police Academy and the council on Law Enforcement Education and Training for the State of Oklahoma.  During his career he received a Life Saving Award and was a candidate for Officer of the Year in 1981.  He retired on 9-30-1998.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police  and a staunch supporter of the NRA.

Jones is the son of the late Leatha M. Jones and the Late Robert L. Jones.
