A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 11:00 a.m., at Friendship Church, 1709 N. Madison, Tulsa, OK 74106.

Roy Lee Coleman Jr, also known as,”Lil Roy” was born on December 19, 1990 to the proud parents of Roy Sr. and Redine Coleman in Shreveport, Louisiana. His Father preceded him in death in the year of our Lord, 2000.

Roy transitioned into the arms of our loving Father on Saturday, March 16, 2024 around 10:30 am.

After the death of his father, at the tender age of 9 years old, Roy briefly went to live with his grandmother, Mattie Louis, who always felt that he  could do no wrong. The funniest thing was that Roy was the favorite grandchild and everyone knew it. This was not an issue with the other grands especially since Roy was the baby cousin of the bunch.

Roy then went to live with his Auntie Brenda who lived in Monroe, Louisiana. She raised and loved him as if he was her own son throughout elementary to college. Roy grew up in the house with his five (5) cousins who he considered his siblings. Roy endearingly called them Bumpy, DeDe, Kim, Genny and Sha. He also grew up with his two cousins, Bumps Jr and Mikey whom he referred to as his “lil brothers” along with his two sisters/ cousins, Destiny and Angel.

Roy graduated from Neville High School in Monroe and went on to college at Northeast Louisiana in Monroe, Louisiana.

Roy met the love of his life while attending his Uncle’s church and married Ashley Tyson on October 23rd 2010. Little did he know, his life would never be the same. Ashley was his Queen and later gave birth to their Princess Paisley Royelle on June 6, 2016. Being a Father was the most important role that he would ever step into. “Pea” was his pride and joy and there was no limit to his love for her.

After his wife and then his daughter, we knew moving forward, his life had completely changed for the greater good. If there was ever  any man that loved his family, it was Roy Lee. He was always busy making sure that his Wife, Mother, and Daughter were well provided for. Roy made sure that his family wanted for nothing.

Roy was always full of life and made everyone around him laugh. He was known as “the life of the party”. His passion was cooking and according to his beautiful wife, he was in the kitchen everyday, sometimes cooking 3 meals a day! Roy loved making people happy with his food and  was endearingly known as, Chef Boy Roy Lee. He even created his own seasoning named (F-O-E) meaning “FLAVOR OVER EVERYTHING”. He sold his seasoning far and wide.

Roy loved music and if you allowed him to tell it, he was a music connoisseur. His favorite instrument was the trombone and he loved being in his high school band and  on the drill team at his childhood church, Unity Church of God in Christ under the leadership of his Uncle,  the late Supt. Donald Louis, who preceded him in death.

Roy later became a Member of both of his big brothers churches, Pastor Donald Louis-Unity Worship Center in Monroe, Louisiana and after moving to Texas he became a member at Unity Worship Center Dallas Texas-Pastor Detrius Louis. Roy then moved to Tulsa, OK and served faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Jamaal Dyer at Friendship Church Tulsa until his demise.

Roy leaves to mourn his loving mother Redine, who loved her only child endlessly. She was always so proud of the man that Roy had become. One would always catch Redine randomly smiling at her big baby boy (her twin)  with such awe.

He also leaves behind his wife Ashley, his daughter Paisley, his Auntie Brenda, two sister in laws, Jessica and Kanyia, one brother in law, Montrell and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Roy had two very special childhood friends (Torren and Charles) that he loved like brothers. He also leaves to cherish Dallas, his supporting actor in all of his movies.

Take your rest, Roy Lee. You will forever be in all of our hearts. Gone but you will NEVER be forgotten!
