Obituary

Virginia J Bishop, 81 of Tulsa passed away March 13. She was born April 30, 1932 in Stendal, IN to Roscoe Paul and Edra Elvada (Perry) Booth. She grew up, went to school and married in Princeton, IN. In 1955, she with husband and two children moved to Tulsa. After her divorce, while working two jobs, her friend Joyce urged her to apply at the telephone company. She was hired as an operator and later moved into accounting and then into operations. She retired from AT&T after 22 years of service and remained a proud member of the AT&T Pioneers. She was known by all as a loving friend and caregiver to anyone who needed a helping hand. She loved music, dancing, playing cards, friends and children, and was always ready with a smile, hug and laugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patricia and daughter Jo Denese Miles. She is survived by son Stephen Miles and wife Jerri of Tulsa; sister Joann Jordan of Princeton, IN; son-in-law Mark Shaleen of Norman; grandchildren Michael Jones, Corey Barton and Sasha Hanson of Tulsa and 5 great grandchildren. Interment at a later date will be in Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs. Funeral services for Virginia will be Monday, March 24, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel
